“Nii keeruka koega ja intensiivse loomuga muusikat pole ükski Eesti bigbänd arvatavasti varem esitanud. Keerukusega kaasnes partituuri erakordne rikkus, mis puudutas nii rütmikat kui ka meetrikat, kõlasid ja kõlavahekordi, vormidramaturgiat ja värskeid muusikalisi ideid ning nende üllatusterohket väljendust. Orkester sai raske ülesandega suurepäraselt hakkama, pillirühmad kõlasid hästi kokku ja igast rühmast kerkis esile säravaid soliste. Kohe pärast kontserti siirduti salvestama ja loodan, et orkester jõuab ka Eestist kaugemale – see kava väärib kindlasti nimekate jazzifestivalide pealava.”

Randalu's concert was one of the highlights of the entire Jazzkaar. /—/ The orchestra impressed with its sound, in which bass lines and other lower register were present in a rare way. It developed a pleasing muskiness that compensated for the overall sound, while creating a balance with Randalu's piano. The music was a fascinating combination of technically intricate time signatures that shifted within the piece, slanted tonal surfaces, and moody accelerations and swells.

Solo space for the various instruments had been incorporated into the pieces, which contributed to generating an uplifting dynamic to the whole. For example, Song of Freedom included a fine drum part by , reminiscent of Gil Evens and Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain.
